Question 1

What is OrbitexPDF?

Accepted Answer

OrbitexPDF is a browser-based workspace for everyday PDF work. Merge, split, compress, convert, protect, and edit documents from one calm interface - without installing desktop software.

Question 2

How do I find the right tool?

Accepted Answer

Use All PDF Tools to browse the full directory, or the search box on the home page. Shortcuts to Merge PDF, Split PDF and Compress PDF are in the top navigation, and the Convert menu groups the format conversions.

Question 3

Do I need to install anything?

Accepted Answer

No. Orbitex runs in a modern web browser on desktop, tablet, and phone. There is no desktop installer, browser plugin, or app store download required for core tools.

Question 4

Which browsers are supported?

Accepted Answer

We recommend the latest versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari. Enable JavaScript and allow file selection. Older browsers may not support large uploads or the in-page PDF editor.

Question 5

Which file formats can I use?

Accepted Answer

Most tools accept standard .pdf files. The conversion tools that read Office documents accept .docx, .xlsx and .pptx instead - each tool page states what it takes before you upload.

Question 6

Is Orbitex free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every tool is free, with no account and no watermark. The free plan has daily limits, and Pro raises them for $5 a month or $30 a year. Pricing has the full comparison.

Question 7

How do I merge multiple PDFs?

Accepted Answer

Open Merge PDF, add two or more files, then drag items in the queue to set page order. Optionally name the output and enable a table of contents. When processing is connected, one combined PDF downloads to your device.

Question 8

How does Compress PDF work?

Accepted Answer

Upload a PDF and choose a quality preset such as Smaller file, Balanced, or Higher quality. Balanced is a good default for email attachments. Smaller file prioritizes size; Higher quality keeps sharper text and images when fidelity matters.

Question 9

Can I split a PDF into separate files?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Split PDF is designed for page ranges, bookmark-based splits, and extracting selected pages. You can download individual PDFs or a ZIP archive once processing is live.

Question 10

Can I convert between PDF and Office formats?

Accepted Answer

Yes. PDF to Word and PDF to Excel turn PDFs into editable Office files. Word to PDF, Excel to PDF, and PowerPoint to PDF go the other way when you need a shareable PDF. Output quality depends on the source layout - clean text and tables convert better than heavy scans.

Question 11

Can I edit text and annotations in a PDF?

Accepted Answer

Edit PDF lets you add text, images, shapes, and freehand annotations, then adjust size, font, and color. It is the one tool that never uploads anything - the file is opened, edited and written back entirely in your browser, so the document does not leave your machine.

Question 12

How do I password-protect a PDF?

Accepted Answer

Use Protect PDF to set a password before sharing sensitive documents. Choose a strong password and store it safely - Orbitex cannot recover passwords you forget after encryption.

Question 13

Why is my PDF still large after compression?

Accepted Answer

Heavy image pages, high-resolution scans, and embedded fonts increase size. Try a stronger compression preset, or remove unused pages with Split PDF before compressing.

Question 14

How do I upload a file?

Accepted Answer

On any tool page, click the Select button or drop files anywhere on the page. Most tools take several files at once, and you can add, replace or remove files before you start the job.

Question 15

What are the file size limits?

Accepted Answer

On the free plan, files can be up to 20 MB, one task takes up to 5 files (2 on Compress, Protect and the converters), and you can run 3 Office conversions a day. Pro raises these to 250 MB and 20 files, with no daily conversion limit. The PDF editor opens files on your own device and takes up to 100 MB on every plan.

Question 16

How long do my downloads stay available?

Accepted Answer

A finished file is yours to download for 30 minutes, and it is deleted as soon as you have taken it. The upload is deleted the moment the job finishes either way. Nothing is kept on the server, which is also why there is no history to come back to later.

Question 17

Can I process multiple files at once?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Merge PDF and Organize PDF take up to 5 files in one task on the free plan. Compress PDF, Protect PDF and the five converters - Word, Excel and PowerPoint to PDF, and PDF to Word and Excel - take 2. Pro takes up to 20 on all of them. Split PDF and the PDF editor work on one file at a time.

Question 18

Where are my downloads saved?

Accepted Answer

When processing is connected, results download through your browser to your default downloads folder - or wherever you choose in the save dialog. Orbitex does not keep a permanent library of completed files on Free workflows.

Question 19

What happens to my files after I upload them?

Accepted Answer

Orbitex is designed around temporary processing and clear deletion - not indefinite storage of your documents. The File Security and Deletion Policy explains the full lifecycle from selection in the browser through processing and removal.

Question 20

Do you sell my files or personal data?

Accepted Answer

No. We do not sell your files or personal data. See the Privacy Policy for what we collect (such as support emails or account details when you sign up) and how it is used.

Question 21

Is it safe to upload confidential documents?

Accepted Answer

Treat every online tool carefully with regulated or highly sensitive data. Review our security and privacy policies first. For Business compliance needs such as DPAs, contact support before processing regulated content.

Question 22

Do you use cookies?

Accepted Answer

We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy - for essentials, preferences, and measuring how the site performs. You can manage non-essential cookies where your browser and our consent tools allow.

Question 23

How long are files retained?

Accepted Answer

Uploaded files are not kept permanently for standard free workflows. Retention windows and any account-related storage rules are documented in the File Security policy and will be updated if paid features change storage behavior.

Question 24

Do I need an account to use tools?

Accepted Answer

No. Every tool works without an account on the free plan. An account is needed for Pro, so the subscription has somewhere to belong.

Question 25

How do I sign up?

Accepted Answer

Open Sign up and continue with Google or email. Complete the form to create your Orbitex account. Full sync and saved history connect as account features roll out.

Question 26

What is the difference between Free, Pro, and Business?

Accepted Answer

Free covers every tool with everyday limits. Pro takes bigger files and bigger tasks, removes the daily conversion limit, puts your jobs first in the queue, stays ad-free and comes with priority email support. Business is aimed at teams that need seats, shared workflows and API access.

Question 27

How does paying for Pro work?

Accepted Answer

Choose monthly or yearly on the Pricing page and pay through Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider. Your card details go to them, never to us. Cancel anytime from your account page, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.

Question 28

Do you offer refunds?

Accepted Answer

If a payment looks wrong, or Pro was not what you expected, write to us with your account email. We look at every request, and refunds go back to the card you paid with.

Question 29

Is there an API for developers?

Accepted Answer

A REST API for PDF automation is planned with the Business plan. Review API docs for the proposed surface, then contact us about beta access when your use case is ready.

Question 30

Can I use Orbitex on mobile?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Pages are responsive for phones and tablets, and compressing or converting a PDF works well on the go. Editing a document's text is more comfortable on a larger screen.

Question 31

Why is a tool page slow or unresponsive?

Accepted Answer

Large files, limited device memory, or an overloaded tab can slow previews. Close unused tabs, try a smaller sample file, or switch to a desktop browser. If the issue continues, tell us the tool name and browser version via Contact.

Question 32

Does Orbitex work offline?

Accepted Answer

No. You need an internet connection to load Orbitex and, when processing is connected, to run server-backed jobs. Local-only offline packs are not part of the current roadmap.

Question 33

Do you integrate with Google Drive or Dropbox?

Accepted Answer

Cloud import and export integrations are under consideration for later releases. Today, upload from your device and download results to your computer or phone.

Question 34

Is the site accessible?

Accepted Answer

We aim for clear labels, keyboard-friendly controls, and visible focus states across tool and content pages. If you hit a barrier, email support with the page URL and what assistive technology you use so we can improve it.

Question 35

My file will not upload. What should I check?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the file matches the tool - a .pdf for the PDF tools, a .docx, .xlsx or .pptx for the Office conversions. Try a smaller file, disable extensions that block uploads, and make sure the browser has permission to access files.

Question 36

The page looks broken or styles are missing.

Accepted Answer

Hard refresh the page (Ctrl+Shift+R or Cmd+Shift+R). Clear cache for orbitexpdf.online if an old build is stuck. If you still see a CSS or layout error, send a screenshot to support.

Question 37

I clicked process and nothing seems to be happening.

Accepted Answer

One file is processed at a time, so a busy moment means a short queue - the page shows your position in it rather than a spinner. Large PDFs and Office conversions take the longest. If the job reports an error instead, the message explains what went wrong with that particular file.

Question 38

How do I report a bug?

Accepted Answer

Use the contact form or email support@orbitexpdf.online. Include the tool name, browser, device, approximate file size, and steps to reproduce. Screenshots help us fix issues faster.

Question 39

Where else can I learn workflows?

Accepted Answer

Guides cover step-by-step compress, merge, split and edit flows. The Features page explains platform capabilities, and the blog shares tips as we publish new articles.
